What Customers Say About RCA - 4 line Speakerphone with Call Waiting Caller ID:

It does take a slight modification to make the Plantronics handset lifter to work correctly because of the shape of the handset and the angle of the phone when on the desk, so taping something thick on the ear piece so it hangs up each time is what was needed, otherwise its not the phones fault it was not made to work with the Plantronics handset lifter perfectly. Not sure what to say about a phone. It has buttons, it works, it servers its purpose. The phone functions as it is supposed to, all features and functions it has I probably will never use 1/2 of them, but the end point is it works and is a good 4-line phone. The 2-line version I had lasted 6 years of this same brand/model/style and the keypad wore out finally (I do a lot of phone sales so the keypad is used all day long), so I knew it was a good phone coming into this purchase.

This was a used phone but the only thing that appeared used was the box. Everything works well.

Navigating the menu to program features was strait forward. This phone offers the basic functions that you would expect with a business phone, such as speaker phone, caller ID, hold, intercom, speed dial, etc. The phone has preformed reliably with no real problems. While some reviewers have found the beep it does for a person on hold, I feel it is a plus. Overall this phone is on pare with 4 line business phones by AT&T that I have use at other locations. When I did receive a defective phone RCA/Thompson was very easy to work with on the replacement and even sent an advanced replacement with a prepaid return label. Its shortcoming in my opinion is that there is no wall mount option available.

I bought this to replace my aging Siemen's 2420 home/office system. It should support 8-16 wireless handsets, optional repeaters/range extenders, and remote speakerphones on the wireless side - as it stands it is mostly useless and will likely end up in the garbage as soon as I can find a business-friendly SOHO offering. My Siemens 2420 lasted almost 8 years and I went thru 4 speakerphone bases, and 12 or more handsets - used it for 2 office locations (home and RV) with great results - too bad nobody else has touched this market with an effective product. I use a Plantronics 900Mhz headset for all talking - not the handset or the speakerphone mic.

I had read some bad reviews of the Siemens 8800 series 5.8Ghz effort - so I tried this RCA model. Don't try this yourself as it voids the warranty and is functional yet not cosmetically pleasing;)Overall this phone is simply not up to home office duty - despite having 4 lines and a somewhat decent speakerphone. It supports chain-dialing (unlike some multiline ATT models like the 2.4Ghz speakerphone base - which is now handling my "home" lines).

Unfortunately, the speakerphone handset will NOT work with a plantronics HL10 handset lifter - I used a dremel moto-tool to fix the design and now it can lift the handset. Mistake on my part.Don't bother with the 'Remote Handset" add-on - it has massive interference problems from local RF sources (home office with lights, wireless headset, wireless LAN, cellular phone - the usual stuff everything should be immune to;). The speakerphone base is OK for listening, but not for talking.

RCA should learn from Siemens and do a complete multiline speakerphone system with excellent base, intuitive functions to support business users (per-line and per-handset configuration of access, and many other features that Siemens implemented in the 2420 and 8800 series). Perhaps it's time to revisit the 8800;)

First, the phone recognizes only line one when a two line cord is plugged into the first jack. Needed a 3rd for home office use. I have two of model 25404RE3. To get it to work for my two lines, I have to plug it into the second jack and use line 3 and 4. Ordered this 'new' model by mistake. The two 25404RE3 phones work fine, but the new 25414RE3 doesn't. Second, it doesn't intercom at all with the 254o4RE3 models. This needs to go back. Also, FWIW I like the aesthtics of the older model better; sleeker looking buttons and less use of dark colors.
